It is one of the most famous sheets of the Codex Atlanticus, since it bears what has often been defined as Leonardo's “car”: it is in fact the project of a self-propelled cart that seems to anticipate modern devices for automated motion. The effective use of this device is still being debated: it might be an automatic device for a theater machine, or a programmable trolley for automata.
